    Best cure for a hangover

I drink 4 44oz cups of water, take a couple of tylenol, take a pee(very important step here folks) and sleep. The morning routine consists of another 44 oz cup of water, mexican food (carne asada burrito usually) and maybe a monster. Works 9 out of 10 times. For the times I fall asleep...

    Employment with a misdemeanor

Every FD in CA requires at least EMT as that's a state requirement for FF1 Cert. What Terrible and I are saying is a FD is more impressed with construction experience instead of EMT because they can give you EMT experience.

    Employment with a misdemeanor

Yes, but the primary function of a fire department is to fight fires. If you know how structures are built, you will know the strong points on a roof, where possible voids are and how fire can travel from here to there. Also you are more than likely mechanically inclined. That's a plus to a...

Had a suspended license with three points...

Yes, but he should only have one point from the red light ticket as the speeding ticket from 2003 will have already dropped off his record. In his case it's the suspension that's hurting him, not the point count.

Had a suspended license with three points...

It's the suspension that's hurting you, not the points. In my experience most companies can not insure you if you have had your license suspended within the last 3 years. Three years after the suspension ended you should be good to go.

Best IFT Companies? South O.C., North S.D. County?

No possible way. Where did you hear that? They lose people all the time to ER job's, schooling, people getting fired for being stupid and they are expanding into the San Gabriel Valley among other areas and getting more and more IFT contracts.

Best IFT Companies? South O.C., North S.D. County?

90% of the people they hire have no experience. I applied with no prior ambulance experience and was in orientation a month later. If your concerned about the drive, eventually you can get onto a 24 hr shift and work only 2 days a week. And if the people at your station are cool, you can trade...

    CARE or SHORELINE ?(orange county)

Also when you first start you will be a floater so you will bounce between 911 and IFT depending on the need. Once you get your drivers you can expect to be assigned to only IFT shifts until you bid on a 911 car.

    CARE or SHORELINE ?(orange county)

You start at $10.50 hr with a 5% raise every year. It depends on how many quit/ get fired from the 911 spots. Some people have to wait 8 months, but I was able to get on one in 5 months. Keep in mind the first two months you work there, you aren't eligible for 911 as you have to be a driver...

Best IFT Companies? South O.C., North S.D. County?

Go to Care. You won't be forced to work 911, plenty of people would kill for the spots. There is a bunch of IFT contracts. On a 9 hour IFT car you will average 5-6 calls.

    CARE or SHORELINE ?(orange county)

I use to work at Care. The benefits are great. I paid about $60 a month for Kaiser, dental and vision. My co-pays were $10. When you first get out of training 72 hours will be difficult, but once you get your drivers certification you can do that easy. I would average 60-90 with some weeks...

    emt pay

What companies are you applying to? Most in southern Ca pay between $9-12 a hour starting. 24 hour rate is usually shorter. IFT only companies usually make a couple bucks more an hour than 911 companies.

    Best Pranks

One of my buddies was working on another rig one day and pulled up to an ER to drop a pt off as I was finishing cleaning my gurney. Him and his partner walked out 15 minutes later and discovered two backboards, a stairchair, trauma bag and boxes of gloves in the cab. They were so shocked by...

    5150 transport

Just because the person is in restraints doesn't mean they are strapped down tight to the gurney. Like I said earlier my company's policy is 4 point restraints on all 5150 IFT's. I do it because I don't feel the need to be written up for violating policy. With that being said, if the patient...

    5150 transport

My company requires four point restraints on all 5150 transports as well. I tell patients up front, before they touch my gurney, what is going to happen and why. The cooperative ones get them put on loosely and with most range of motion. Basically just enough to cover my a** if my manager...

    CARE Ambulance in Orange Ca

Care is a good company to work for as far as ambulance companies go, but it's still a for profit business. One of the best things about Care is the diversity of the areas you can work in. You can be working in Watts one day and Costa Mesa the next. One thing I can say is avoid the LA...
