I'm not actually scared of the needle itself, and I'm ok with watching someone else get stuck. Recently I got a blood test and had a little vagal response, my blood pressure dipped and my hr was like 30, didn't pass out though. I'm nervous for medic school if we have to practice on eachother...
Pro right now is bottom of my list for a couple reasons: main reason is its 11k.. But otherwise I've heard the instructors are paragods (they know everything and yell at you if you don't) and I've also heard they're not solid on learning medications. Obviously this is second hand but I have...
So far I'm looking into EMS academy in Quincy, NMETC in Bridgewater, Safety in Taunton, PRO in Cambridge.
Any others I should be looking into?
Anyone go through these programs and have pros/cons?
I'm leaning towards EMS academy in Quincy because it's close to home and taught by a...

Because they said in the email for the hirin process there will be scenario questions. It is a panel interview and the medical director is going to be present. I was just asking people with past interviews with boson ems specifically.
I passed the written and practical with them and I have an interview this week. Anyone have experience with this? All I know is it is a panel interview and they may ask scenario questions.
I took the cert class that they offered to get my EMT-B and it was great. My question is, once you're hired on to Boston EMS, what is the academy like. From what I understand it's 3 months classroom and 3 months field training, but that's all I know. Are there tests or are you just evaluated...
you really need to be on top of them. one of my friends who also works there said he had to call every day for about a week before finally being able to get in touch with them. the 2 hr women are really nice but also aren't that good at getting back to people. i work for the company and i...
Lifting tests I believe are required by all ambulance companies. It was part of my pre hire physical at the doctors. Different companies do different stuff as far as pre employment testing goes. Some companies just call you for an interview and that's it but others like Cataldo require you...
That's what it is I meant if you have trouble finding the streets they are listed in the bottom right so you use the grid to find them. They ask you to find the quickest route to x hospital from y street. Just find your way tO the nearest main street and you will do
Hey boingo do you know how you would go about becoming a Boston EMS paramedic? I know you need to spend a year as an Boston emt an then gain a promotion. Do they promote you and then train you or do you take an outside class and once you receive you emt-p cert you are eligible for a promotion...
written test which includes multiple choice, a couple narratives, and a map reading part, then the practical where they give you 3 scenarios and you go through everything.
I took the course at Boston EMS. They hire at need so about once a year. You have to pass their written and practical exams, lifting test, and then you may be invited for a panel interview after which if you pass you will be accepted into the 6 month academy. 3 months classroom 3 months field...
