Anyone conducting or participating EMS research?

It's not a part of any larger study, but I'm looking at it in light of issues like alternative transportation destinations. Granted, not everyone who is admitted needs an ambulance ride, but everyone who is admitted needs to come to the hospital.

Anyone conducting or participating EMS research?

I'm currently running a small study looking at whether paramedics can predict hospital admission through my hospital/residency program.

...and I've never been more happy to be traveling for interviews AND on a non-clinical rotation this week. That has to be a fuster cluck for the inpatient teams this week. :D

How are ambulances stored overnight in your area?

Freezing temperatures? What's those? When I worked in So Cal, most of the ambulances were stored inside the base, but there wasn't enough room so the reserve and some of the front line ambulances were stored outside. Additionally all of the 24 hour units were stored outside because... well...

No, I know that... I'm just trying to say that it's not that big of an overkill. Certainly less of an overkill than all of the people asking about jump bags while still in school.

Scope of practice doesn't limit the questions asked or the exam done (for the most part). No one is going to tell an EMT that they were working out of their scope because they heard a pericardial rub. Besides, if he moves past being an EMT, then Bates becomes less overkill.

When to cut away a patient's clothes?

Is this the EMS version of "Hands up, don't shoot"?

When to cut away a patient's clothes?

My licensing exam review books are longer than my EMT book, and it doesn't have 1/4th page size pictures of what a handheld radio looks like.

Anyone rocking a Ambo like this for regular 911 calls?

Norman Regional's unit is only used for CCT calls (I just interviewed there for their new EM residency and we toured the EMS station as well as the hospital).

Just because there are cases of bad kills (local example for me would be the Kelly Thomas murder) doesn't mean that every police killing is a bad kill. Good kills should not go to trial.
