    odd scenario?

    I don't think the pt was called on scene - my medic said that they tried to get her mouth open, but couldn't. They thought to cric her, but decided on 2 nasal airways instead, which helped to get some O2 moving into her.

    KEDs?

    Ok... placement of the groin straps... Last year in my class, we were told to really see-saw them, and to get them in the crack, "like a thong." This year, I was trying to teach the new basics to do that, and heard from the grapevine that one of the students said I had "something up my crotch"...

    odd scenario?

    A paramedic friend of mine was telling me about a run he had been on the other morning. Said they were paged out for a 36 year old PNB female. Got on scene, found a 33 year old PNB female, cool to the touch, with her jaw clenched shut. He said that the other medic tried everything to get an...

    things you will never live down

    I haven't yet found a service, and the only pair of emt pants I could find that aren't 40$ per pair were on ebay (Gall's pants; way too big in the crotch); so the splitting of the pants wouldn't happen with those. The crotch hangs halfway to my knees. -.-;

    Flirting on scene

    With Dan, I told him that I was not interested in any sort of physicality with him. I explained that joking around and whatever is cool (cause all the guys do it; it doesn't bother me); but that any advancements aren't cool. Drag him aside and let him know that you're not ok with this. If all...

    things you will never live down

    hehehe... that's something I would do, minus the running away part. I'd probably pass out; but not run away. I almost failed the OBGYN part of my registry test. I hope I NEVER have to deliver a baby - I'd drop it with my luck. I'd turn a healthy, screaming baby into a PNB in no time.... :S...

    "On scene, staging at the funeral home." LMAO!! Sounds like something our medics here would say - intentionally - just to be funny. -.-

    things you will never live down

    We've all got those stupid things we've done or said that someone remembers. Those stupid things that we will NEVER live down.. What are they? Last year in my basic class, my partner and I, (before the b***h abandoned me); were in the cardiac station. My "patient" was having difficulty...

    first alone call

    Oh I was only a little nervous. I'm bad at medical to begin with, and then to throw me in there by myself... yeah. I was shaking like I was having DTs. or something. My pulse...would have been probably low-to-mid 90s, I think. I usually hover around 70-80. If it would have been a trauma call...

    EMS = Perversion?

    lol Tcert. I've been called the "w" word, the "s" word, and I've been called a lesbian by many people. Hmm... let's see... I've got a guy..most of my friends are guys..I've got 1 close girl friend.. yup. I must be a lesbian. -.-; "If he's cute, it's flirting. If he's not cute, it's sexual...

    first alone call

    Grandma was responsive, a little slow to answer, but not feeling well. She was vomiting before I got there, but had stopped. I didn't feel that 15 lpm was necessary - I think it would have been too much for her. She denied difficulty breathing, but again, O2 isn't going to hurt. From what...

    Alright y'all, I need your help

    A negative that your school will be looking at is cost. It's going to cost them to send you through, and will they have the money in their budget? A plus - higher trained staff to be EMS personnel at the school.

    first alone call

    So I'm 9 miles away from my mom's house, heading back to my dad's house so I could go to work this morning. I was on the road a little after 8:30. I had my radio in my car, and (as I said), I was about 9 miles or so away. I heard our tones go off so I pulled my car to a stop. All I heard was the...
