what Knife do you carry on duty?

Haven't really had to use it except for one trauma pt who responded to painful stimuli (bubinski method, of course I didn't open the blade) But it works around the house haha

Funny one liners you've said to overheard to a patient

Being a huge fan of 90's alternative/grunge, I use this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8MAHQhKe7Q Now being an EMT in NJ, shouldn't you know that you aren't allowed to pronounce anyone deceased. You can presume deceased, but you need a paramedic to confirm. I'm an EMT in NJ as well.

    Same Questions Twice?

Congrats, yea I noticed that too. The last time I took it I had like two or three questions repeat twice. I always got nervous about it because I was like thinking, is it coming up because I got it wrong and it is telling me that or it just came up again because it can. I over think stuff...

    VHF Portable

My squad gave me one of their old Motorola HT-1250s. It is pretty nice for an older radio. I think Monoc uses them *** well. Here's a link: http://www.si-machinery.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=3812&zenid=d4ots3gksrci1amp37f8rdbj16

    Hillbilly Deluxe

Now where they wired in series or in parallel? If it was in parallel with the battery charger in series, that would be insane. I'm an electrical engineering major. I know I'm studying something not really related to medicine, but I'm working on a middle ground for a career.

Collegiate EMS Response to Flood Shelter

This is a really good example as to how a campus EMS service would be effective. The college EMS service I am in is pretty much clear to start as strictly stand-bys at sporting events, for now, (and we're fine by that, gotta take baby steps with this sort of thing) but I'm sure if we had...

    Electronic PCRs

Having done my ride time with a squad that has electronic PCRs, they seemed more work than necessary. The EMT wrote down all of the information on a notepad. That's exactly what he read to AMR (the squad doesn't transport) and when they got back to the building, they filled out the PCR online...

    Beriatric Calls

My squad happens to be one of the few companies in the area with a beriatric unit. I finally went to a beriatric call yesterday. 83 year old female with seizures. She stopped seizing by time we got there, medics were on scene a half hour before we arrived. We have a wider than usually...

    Design for EMS practitioner

Most likely they would ask you to have a CPR card that is the only thing you truly need to ride on an ambulance. How else would students get service time on an ambulance? I think if you had one of those, that would greatly reduce response time, unless you had one that can go like 40 mph.
