    EMT-B license for nothing...

Here goes my general non-sense ranting again lol. So, I'm sure some of you might remember little ole me getting my EMT-B license last year (around $800+ total in the end); primarly because I was on the fire department and only had one or two EMTs and we were in a rural community, plus I was...

How many lights is too many?

None; When I first got into it I used to be all about the lights; that wore off pretty quick. The past few times (been a while) that I responded even in an apparatus to a medical call and/or fire, I ran code 1 with no lights or siren... and I'm pretty much 100% sure I made it on-scene quicker...

    Diabetic Emergency Question

Okay, today we were dispatched to a female patient with known diabetic related problems; the complaint was that the patient was eating breakfast, became disoriented and finally became unresponsive to verbal stimuli. Prior to the patient becoming unresponsive, a family member gave a some...

    Hello To Everyone

Just remember that if YOU are caught giving questions, or answers to other candidates that are from the NREMT exam, they can revoke your NREMT and withold you from being an EMT, which I'm quiet sure would most definently also affect your state EMT license as well. Be careful with what you do...

    Getting hired at 19

I disagree with the "not hiring due to age". It's in the works that I will be getting a job at a local EMS provider as an EMT-B in January, and I am only 19. Also, I know of people whom are 18, and on another local EMS. On the fire department, our insurance (much like EMS) does have strict...

    Self Defense for EMS

I agree with what most people are saying about not needing to carry a weapon... we are NOT the police, and if we are responding to a dangerous situation, or a situation that has the potential to turn threatening then we need to request the police, and wait for them. However, having a...

Does anyone have trouble getting accurate BPs in the back of the ambulance?

That's something good to remind yourself -- I never really though that far ahead into that, I can sure see how that would come in handy.

    Passed NREMT now what?

As Ridryder911 and bstone said, NREMT can be confusing at times. From my experience, in Kentucky and with the NREMT it worked as follows (of course, you will have had already completed the majority of the steps). Pre-Testing Process 1. Register an account on NREMT.org 2. Create an...
