Exactly when/how to use the siren?

What exactly are they going to teach me in 3 weeks at a cost of $2,000-4,000 that I can't learn in 16 hours? Driving is not that difficult.

Exactly when/how to use the siren?

Is this not something that other states do? You're required to take an EVOC course prior to driving an ambulance in VA.

Pretty soon we'll be running box trucks with lights and sirens, fully equipped with an MRI and EMD onboard and Chinooks for HEMS.

Exactly when/how to use the siren?

I use the standard siren (wail) and switch to the two-tone when I approach an intersection. if it's a particularly busy intersection, it's been red for a while, or anything else where I'm there for more than a split second, I'll then switch to the phaser just to make sure I have everyone's...

    Full Arrest

Back in my day, I walked uphill both ways to EMT school in the driving snow with only a baked potato in my pocket to keep me warm and feed me.

    EMT-I

I's are more advanced, at least in my area, than AEMTs. Having an I on a truck makes it a medic, but if you run with an AEMT it's still just an ambulance. It's still a thing here in VA even though I think everyone knows the direction EMS is going in general is away from it.

What is your team doing for Ebola?

This is off-topic, but in case you're new to the whole message board thing it is bad form to post again if you're the last one who posted. I would recommend either containing all of your disparate thoughts in a single post, or if you think of something to add after you've already hit the "Post"...

What is your team doing for Ebola?

You blowing this place up @Gotham Medic We just got new guidelines from the county at my 911 volly squad. Dispatchers ask ebola related questions and screen anyone that qualifies so the hazmat fire guys take the call - they are the ones with the appropriate PPE. In addition if dispatch doesn't...

I went on bestgore and the first thing i noticed was some folks having a very earnest conversation in the comment section about Zionists and the NWO. I don't know if that's common over there but i think I'll stick to liveleak.com just the same!

Ebola: first case hits the US

I will bet you literally all the internet money that you're wrong. And what's more, it's fearmongering like this that will cause actual problems, not ebola. Everything that is going on in Congress, with the President, etc. is politics. The President has to look like he's in control of the...
