    I wish it was pro, Because your right, there would be less of a risk of crashes, But its amateur, practically anyone with gear a bike and forty dollars can race. Cutting through boots with shears? WOW , luckily ive been around motorcycles/dirtbikes etc. all my life so boots are a no biggie.

    No, but we only run 2000 calls a year with 2 rigs, there's been a few really busy shifts but, theirs usually an hour or so downtime for us between calls. i was at the station the other day for an hour and a half to get some stuff done, and they hadn't had a call in the last hour before i sowed...

    Very annoying this volly EMT thing...

    The company i run with is paid/volunteer, monday-friday paid, nights and weekends vollunteer, we only need a driver and emt, sometimes another emt or an emr/mrt as a third, we always have someone on. Your situation is surprising, 4 people on the crew seems a little much.

    What medical skills have you used outside of work?

    just for the family and people i know. a few scrapes, bruises etc. And for myself when i do something stupid and get hurt, oh and 1 difficulty breathing but it was a friend grandma so i just sat with her until the rig showed up, had nothing on me to help anyway.

    frost bite you are so right, i actually thought about buying an older caddy ambulance, because i love old cars , and then a freind of mine got the idea to buy a relativley new one and stock it, luckily he was broke. i laughed in his face when he said he wanted to do that.
