    our ambulance has its own, as does each medication bag with lancets and test strips.. i use my own jump bag on calls and standby events and re stock from the ambulance, so i carry my own glucose meter, lancets and strips. i keep it qc'd along with the other units and throw away more strips...

    i personally wouldnt tell them, unless something happened mid flight, then if i hadnt already had a few drinks, and was bored of all the movies, id consider making myself known.

    in my experence thats the exception not the rule though. most of my glycemic emergencies i come across are hypo though, who usually havent seen anything resembling food for hours at least.

    just checked in my ambulance there, we have a phrase book english into 12 languages with simply phrases like where's the pain etc and then a little advice on how to deal with the situation. i forgot we had that, i thought it was something about the mechanics of the vehicle

    personally i dont like tatoo's as it is.. but in a professional service such as ems, i think it gives off the wrong impression and doesnt look professional. now if they can be covered up easily like if it were on the back or shoulder then its ok, but any visible tat's in my book are a no no
