Who has leads on paid positions in/around Ukraine

I was there with Global Rescue as a paramedic from 2017-2018. I would not go back until a cease fire agreement is reached and an intergovernmental peace agency returns to patroling such as the OSCE. Just my 2 cents

Thoughts on RNs being allowed to challenge Medic exam?

After 20 years in EMS I'm finally on my way out. I have a 2 year exit plan. To a career where the minimum requirements for licensure is a masters degree or doctorate. There are many reasons for this, but the topic of this thread and the attitude of some in it will add another tally to my exit...

Thoughts on RNs being allowed to challenge Medic exam?

I don't want to be a nurse. I'm happy for those who do. But you have to see this is one sided right? If you don't, you didn't spend very long working as a paramedic before becoming a nurse.

Thoughts on RNs being allowed to challenge Medic exam?

Absolutely the nursing program has more breadth and holistic training at it's core. However I would argue there are paramedics with college degrees who have the right prerecs, with some self directed study could pass the NCLEX. So why not let them? The fact it's completely one sided is just...

Thoughts on RNs being allowed to challenge Medic exam?

Lots of good replies here from folks who have both license levels and experience. My take on it is this, it should absolutely be 2 ways. A number of paramedics have college degrees and years of experience including ground critical care transport and HEMS. The fact we're not allowed to challenge...

US to Canada. Has anyone done it?

Holy smokes this was an old thread! Also I see your reply is from October and I'm now responding to this in December so apologies. I'm a U.S. paramedic who successfully filed reciprocity into Canada. I'm now living and working in Vancouver BC as an Advanced Care Paramedic. The process took me...

What did you do after leaving EMS as a field provider?

Just curious if anyone has left EMS and changed careers? If so, what do you do know and how do you like it compared to EMS? Also, if you left the field but are still involved in administration or training ect.

Moving to Vancouver, BC with an ACP licence

Hello, I'm a U.S. paramedic moving to BC this fall. I have an ACP licence and have been working with this website for international paramedics moving to BC (which by the way is a great resource for anyone else doing this) http://www.internationalparamedicsbc.com/ I was wondering what my...

Getting your foot in the door as an EMS instructor

The post above where helpful. I think in my case, good-timing and a low number of qualified candidates likely played a role.

Getting your foot in the door as an EMS instructor

Does anyone have experience as an EMT, Paramedic. or Health Science instructor? If so, how did you get your foot in the door? Was it AHA card classes to gain experience or another way ? When (if ever) in your career did you gain your NAEMSE Instructor Certification? If you taught at a community...
