    DNR and assisted ventilations.

The hospice called for transport of the pt to hospital for treatment of the developing pneumonia. In this case the wife assumed us using a BVM to assist with ventilations as resuscitation attempts, even though he was breathing on his own with difficulty. Lol... pneumonia with associated Dead...

    DNR and assisted ventilations.

I'm sure the answer is on here somewhere, but I searched and couldn't find it. So: You've been called to the scene for 70yo male with irreversible kidney failure, due to the onset of pneumonia with associated DIB. Hospice nurse is on scene and is the one who called. Wife brings you a DNR for...

    Basic to Medic no break?

As far as passing the academic work I have no doubt that an EMT could move into the paramedic knowledge level, however once you are a paramedic on the streets your experience or lack there of will often determine how well you can put your knowledge to use. Biot's vs. Agonal.

So the difference is biot's will eventually revert to eupneic breathing for a time whereas agonal will degenerate into apnea? But as far as the irregularity itself are there notable differences as far as rate, depth of respiration etc?

    O2 tank size naming convention?

How are tank's named? There seems to be no logic to the letters at they relate to tank sizes or capacity. Am I missing something or are the tanks just named completely arbitrarily?

    Biot's vs. Agonal.

I gather that the term agonal, if used correctly, is restricted to the breathing just prior to or following clinical death. That said, both agonal and biot's are characterized by irregular gasping beath patterns, and biot's is also a sign of likely impending death without immediate (usually...
