For those who work for AMR...

Trust me, lift weights anyway to be in shape otherwise you'll hurt yourself in this job. For some reason our corp. says it's too much liability to get us exercise equipment and better to let us turn into goo. The goo factor allows for more injuries and sick time/workers comp time...oh well, my...

    A Burning and Yurning...

My vollie service is looking to construct an events cart and put a cot on it or if we can find one a folding stretcher with adjustable back... Personally I think the whole reasoning of liability is stretching it too far and it's mostly CYA...but oh well...

    Code Theme Music?

Ok, it is a known fact there are whackers on this forum...you know who you are... So, do you play theme music when flying code? If you do what do you usually play. I would but it kinda tough to hear our VHF radios with the darn siren...

    Triage Training

I am working on a presentation for START Triage. I've scoured the interet for information and have the basics however I don't know how to deliver it so that it isn't the same as all other triage presentations. For one audience I can get away with having hands-on scenarios but with another...

    A Burning and Yurning...

I have a burning and a yurning for a used cot mount and possibly used cot...anyone know of a place where I could find this? I would prefer cheap, as most would. Oh and I've already heard the liability speech so please no more... Brando

No such thing as a routine call

I agree with Tincan....got called to a nursing home routine for a 80's female with severe chest and back pain, sats dropping and becoming cyanotic...the nursing home called us routine, we decided to bump it up and good thing we did. Ended bringing the pt back emergent. Always have to keep your...

things you will never live down

At my service when I first started a couple months ago we have two types of rigs.....new one's and old one's.... The new one's don't require to turn on a battery to start or use the patient compartment electric...so just get in, turn the key and go! The old rigs...only need the battery...

    first alone call

FFEMT- your #5 is awesome...i agree vitals are good, depending upon what this call was but half the time the ambulance doesn't care what first response around here does...all they care about "is the PT alive or dead" and start fresh all the time...having two SAMPLEs is good because many times...

    first alone call

C-Spine, first of all…you did perfect!!! I know that feeling, the first call on you own. I’ve been there, adrenaline is rushing and your body makes it a bigger emergency than the PT feels it is. Alright, you arrive on scene…scene must have been safe with no obvious problems. You run in...
