Sure an odd thread possibly but would like to see what color gloves everyone have on the rig?

We have the lovely purple ones....

yep...we have the purple ones on car too. the entire province is latex free...and i think that everyone has either purple or the light blue ones. I for one prefer the purple, just because they are stronger.

I miss my purple gloves :( Those are my favorite gloves ever.

Right now we are using the same brand as the purple ones, but they are grey, and thinner, so they rip really easily. At least they fit me though, I have very small hands, and the small gloves produced by Kimberly Clark are the only ones that fit me. (KC makes the purple and grey gloves).

I don't have a truck anymore being unemployed, but the service I do rides with has thick textured latex gloves.

Personally, I like whatever gloves fit my hands correctly. When I was working we used to swipe a box of gloves from whatever hospital we dropped off with if they were better than the ones we currently had, I liked to take some bright blue nitrile gloves from ORMC. They fit my short fat fingers perfectly.

But I think basing what gloves you like based on color is kinda ridiculous

Sasha....the "purple gloves" are only made by one company. We are all talking about the same gloves. Kimberly-Clark color codes their gloves so each different color is a different type of glove. For instance the purple gloves are thicker than the grey gloves, and the blue gloves don't have textured finger tips.

So yeah, liking the gloves has nothing to do with the color, the color just indicates what type of glove it is.

We call them "Barney Gloves." Purple. On occasion, we get some blue ones that are textured like lizard skin. Supposed to help with grip, I guess, but kind of annoying because the creases seem to want to give the gloves a "tear line." Prefer the purple ones, personally.

One of our sister stations across town uses some really lame white gloves that have "runs" in them. Like, during manufacturing, drops of material ran down to the fingers and left these big balls of nitrile in your fingertips. Quite annoying, and makes it impossible to find a vein with gloves on (I'm one of those that keeps gloves on the entire time I'm doing an IV). And they are cheap as hell, and tend to tear the cuff off the bottom when you pull the stupid things on.

All in all, I'll stick with the big purple ones, thanks.

That would be all well and good, if the question was "Why type of gloves?" but the question went on to specify what COLOR gloves do you have. Seriously? Kimberly Clark isn't the only maker of gloves, after all. SemperCare makes my glove preference, and they don't color code their gloves.

Last rig I was on has gloves color coded based on size. Made it easier to find your size. I always grabbed a blue or gray pair. (blue one went up a little higher on your wrist) They also had purple and white. I think purple was large and white was small? Not really sure. All I knew was grab a pair or two of blue or gray which ever were closest and get the bags and go.

The ones I keep in my car are purple. Whatever fits, I don't really care about the color.

Our trucks have some generic blue nitrile gloves. However, when I visit the ER of one certain hospital, located in the Northwest part of the city, I always grab several pair of these green gloves.

Every EMT that stops at this hospital always walks out with their pockets bulging. (This particular hospital also has an EMS lounge/office that is always stocked with snack goodies like yogurt and granola bars. They treat the EMS folks well there.)

What are gloves?:p I wonder how many wash their hands after taking their gloves off? I also wonder how many wear a pair of gloves and touch everything in their ambulance after touching the patient?

Because color and type are pretty much the same thing.

Everyone I work with? It's disturbing as hell, none of our ambulances have mounted hand sanitizer dispensers in them and during the call my FTO routinely takes off her gloves and starts charting on the computer, then she hands the computer to the patient to sign. It's icky.

We are get some thick blueish/purple gloves. I can't stand them because they are hard to put on. I prefer the KC purple or grey gloves, some how we find them on our ambulance. I don't know how they get there, though.
