Anyone else have experience working at a sobering center? It's my first job as an EMT, but I dont feel like I'm doing EMT things. But the pay is alright for an EMT-B and I dont need to drive a rig around, but I feel like I'm missing out on valuable patient care experience, other than dealing with aggressive homeless people.

I do not know what a sobering center is. I can infer from context. How about you explain more of your duties or typical shift?

I worked at one for a few years and I can tell you that you are doing a lot more EMT things than you realize. I personally think the experience is much more valuable than doing wheelchair transfers, nothing against working the wheelchair rigs. Where are you working at?
Feel free to PM me with any questions you might have.
