Working as an EMT in two states

Hey everyone,
This is something I've been pondering and I appreciate any incite.

Is is possible to work as an EMT in two different states? For example: living and working as an ER Tech in Portland and also working for AMR in Vancouver Washington. I know it's illegal to have two drivers licenses from different states so would I be able to drive an ambulance in Washington with an Oregon license? And would I be allowed to maintain an EMT cert in both states? Any help is appreciated, thanks!
 
In short, yes it is very possible.

Speak to the individual operations about the particulars, but most of the time you use your driver's license from your state of residence. You will have to obtain EMT licensure in both states. This is quite common in state border areas, and I'm certain you're not the first to attempt this in WA/OR.
 
Shouldn't be a problem. I used to have a CA and a MA card.
 
When I worked on the Reservation in Chinle, AZ...we had to have multiple licenses due to our response area. AZ, NM, UT and CO.
 
I used to work in a large city that was on the border of another state. We responded to both states. You just need to have a paramedic/emt license in each state. There's no limit on how many ems licenses one can have. Before I moved, I was looking at different companies/areas and Got my medic license in 8 different states. You only need an active driver license in your state of residence and you will have driving privledges everywhere.
 
I hold three state cards, and have worked at times qith companies in two different states. Very common up in new england, and to an extent in the southwest
