I have two tickets one was failure to obey street sign which I took a defensive driving course for and the other one was a speeding ticket 12-15 over speed limit. I have +1 on my driving record and my applications ask for a driving record. Will I not get a job because of this? Any help answering my question will be great.

From my personal experience, one point will not cost you a job. If you had many violations (especially over a short time), you might have a problem. It also depends on the violations. Some companies will accept many violations but wont accept a DUI. Overall, it depends on the company you apply to and their insurance carrier requirements.

If you pulled my abstract, you would find three moving violations, over five years, with no current points due to point reduction. Also, one accident from 2009 and one from 2012. I currently work full time for a 911 agency and full time for an IFT/911 agency, as well as a volunteer 911 agency.

follow up

Everyone makes mistakes and usually they are following one another.. I haven't had anything since 2 months ago when I got that speeding ticket. I take Evoc on the 2 and third of November and I probably should take a defensive driving course again.

You would be insurable where I work. I just had 2 points fall off my license. Never was an issue. But if you have 3 or more violations within 2 years, I believe they take away your driving status.

If you get a DUI while employed, you loose driving privileges for 7 years.
