HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Omg I'm going to laugh myself to death!

From what I can tell from reading the brief intro to the test for each...

the I/85 is "Successful completion of a state-approved EMT-Intermediate/85 educational program, within the past two (2) years, that equals or exceeds the behavioral objectives of the 1985 EMT-Intermediate National Standard Curriculum as promulgated by the U.S. Department of Transportation."

And the I/99 is "Successful completion of a state-approved EMT-Intermediate/99 educational program, within the past two (2) years, that equals or exceeds the behavioral objectives of the 1999 EMT-Intermediate National Standard Curriculum"

There dont seem to be many 85's, this site highlights the skills taught to I/85's http://www.fmambulance.com/htmls/emt_inter.htm

This site kinda goes over the main skills in I/99, scroll down to bottom...http://www.911hotjobs.com/bookstore/pn432.htm
Kinda off topic, but whats the longest shift you guys have worked?

The EMT-I/85 can only start IV's and use the same drugs as an EMT-B.

The EMT-I/99 is supposed to be able to push first line cardiac drugs.

Simplest explanation I can give.

depends.

they want a modualted system VinBin, mini-medics to the extreeme end

i really don't know many whom claim to have a handle on all the potential changes, but i do know a self serving bueracracy when i see one
