I have heard rumors that they are going to do away with EMT-I. My question is what will happen with those current EMT-I? Will they basically be a EMT-B with better pay? I am in TEXAS.

Either drop to EMT-B or take a bridge program to AEMT or if your an I/99 take a bridge program to medic.

No pay increase if your an I working as a B, sorry.

That's assuming that Texas is converting their EMT-I to AEMT.

Its just wording. From the way I understand it it's just a renaming of I-85. Texas will still have an Intermediate level they just might start calling it AEMT

In Maine, this year they are taking away ET's but adding a lot of ability for the intermediate to negotiate ALS response with OLMC... also... they have added an ILS classification for billing. Maine is embrassing the Intermediate.

Then again, we only use NREMT for Basics... I am not sure if Maine uses the NREMT for Medics or not but I do not think so.
