Must have been the same lecture where they showed correlation between number of posts on a forum and.... Well, literally anything else remotely relevant.
What it shows is overall level of involvement in creating a given culture (yes, this board has a certain culture).
When folks like Remi, STXmedic, DEmedic, ERDoc etc say things, I usually try to listen. If they are sarcastic, dismissive or short, there is probably a reason; just like in EMS and/or the fire service, tough love is in full effect. To square up on those who have helped build the community shows more about you than it does about them.
I don't know how many times I have recommended JB Learning to folks looking for effective study guides when taking the NREMT. Now, when somebody asks, I often don't reply. It's not that I have become a jerk, simply that the information is there and the OP either doesn't know how to find it (which STX addressed) or they have not tried. No points awarded for the latter.
As I have become more experienced in the field, I have not-sick patients walk when I may have gotten a stairchair in the past. Hint: this is not because I am lazy or burnt out, but because coddling such people does not really help them; they'll just expect others to do their work next time.
Last I checked, STX has about 1000 posts that other members have found helpful... That is a stat which carries value. While your 12 "liked" posts in 4 years has a high percentage (compared to total posts made), the overall volume is not sufficient to base a trend.
