I just wanted to take a moment and say WELCOME to all the new members of the forum. Many of you have taken a moment and introduced yourselves. Thanks for being part of our community here.

There are a few that haven't said hi yet, and that's fine. But when you're ready, take a moment, start a thread and introduce yourself. We're always looking to learn from new people here.

I also see that we have a few fellow Floridans in here. Welcome. I think we're up to about 10 or 15 now.

Again, Welcome to EMTLife!!

Gee, I have been a member for about three weeks now but never thought to introduce myself. Where have my manners gone?

I am currently the chief of a very small and rural fire department in West Virginia (canaanvalleyvfd.org) and have been in the volunteer service for almost 24 years. I have been an EMT for 11 years but do little hands-on patient care. This is primarily because I am not in the position to do so while managing a scene. More imporantly, the others in our net possess superior skills.

This past summer the desire to run just about completely disappeared. I have no clue as why other than the fact that after 24 years many might call it a career. Thanks to the people around me like the Angel Geek, H-Bomb, Nightrider, Gang, S*&t Magnet, Earnhardt, Popeye, Flash et al, I am once again enjoying the 'call'.

Great to a part of this group as well!
