lets break down the craigslist ad.

company states:
911 experience..fact is they don't run 911. they are back up for lb but you will not gain 911 experience
Disaster team for fema... technically true but don't get your hopes up
CCT experience... this is true you can get the opportunity to maybe run a cat call.. nothing worthwhile tho
competitive pay.... 10-12 12 if your lucky..
Paid dot.... there have been people who have never received their pay for it.. its on you to pay and they will reimburse but as stated many do not see this money returned
Paid uniforms... they deduct the pay from your check you get it back when you leave
available overtime. true due to the fact they have lost so many people but don't be surprised if you try to pick up overtime and it gets denied
21/24 pay.. true
assigned and set partners... not true
flexible with scheduling... if you don't state it in the beginning they won't give it to you and don't be surprised if you have class and tell them and they schedule you on the days you have class.

Sounds like your typical Renal Rodeo ambulance company.

I was going to post this in the Ameripride thread, but the FBI crashed that party.

You can tell instantly about a company's plan by their name. First Call, GCTI, Gentle Ride, Phoenix, Pineapple Express, Explorer-1, ProCare, F&B Medical Transportation (Yes, it actually exists) or any company with Med in the name (MedResponse, MedReach, MedTrans, MedLife, FirstMed, MediStar) the list of silly names goes on and on.

They're only into whatever racket they're running. It's not EMS. It's a money making scheme. Fire is never going to get on the blower to dispatch and yell "Get FirstCall down here! We need some help!" They get these silly names from guys who have no real interest in the ambulance business.

"Let's call ambulance FirstCall. Then nurse will remember that we are first to call."

"Good plan! Now let's go buy sunglasses, bro!"

These kind of companies are just here to transport people back and forth and scam Medicare. New EMTs, don't get lured in with all these false promises of Back up 911 contracts or vague wording of doing "emergency responses." It's just to lure you in, use you up, and spit you out. I long for the old days when owners put their name on the rig. At least there was some pride of ownership.

To the newly certified basics, Find a company who's reputable, that's not hosting a career day with a Multi-agency task force, and with a name that you wouldn't mind wearing and representing. If you keep you parameters to at least that. You won't end up wearing some weird name and driving around with an 800 number plastered down the side of the rig.

The chances of a guy in a flak jacket kicking in the door while screaming "Search Warrant!" at a company named GoodTimeComfyRide ambulance are pretty high.

lol
If you had any real power over anything, you wouldn't be throwing a hissy fit on a public forum.

Call it what you will. If you had to make a decision every week whether to pay all bills or pay all your employees' payroll, you would take your company's reputation seriously. Most people on this site don't have those responsibilities, and possibly because of that lack of understanding are quick to judge and don't feel a personal responsibility to act like mature adults that have respect for other human beings.

That's all fine and dandy. Don't come on here and throw a tantrum, with your "legal" threats.. Pretty sure he is protected by that little thing called the first amendment.

And that's the end of this thread.
