I'm looking for an agency that I can affiliate with to keep my EMT cert current in Washington (I moved up here recently from California, and they offer reciprocity but only if you're affiliated with an EMS provider) without it being a full-time job. I'm pretty much just interested in volunteer work (as a roller derby medic, which is what I did in CA). Anybody have any ideas? I'm located in Seattle. King County SAR isn't currently affiliating EMTs.

King county is notoriously difficult to find places to volunteer with. If you do a search here, it has been covered a few times before and may point you to some agencies you haven't thought of yet.

I also live in WA and it is very hard to find any kind of work. Have you tried as a volunteer firefighter/EMT?

I was a paid roller derby medic in Portland but that gig no longer exist as far as I know. Contact the derby in Seattle, but good luck getting a medical director to sign off on that.

Maybe not volunteer, but Falck is trying inroads into King County, check their website, they might have some P/T spots...
