I work for a private service, and our ambulances are white with a yellow and blue design that takes up a good part of the ambulance. Other private services around us also drive white ambulances with designs, though ours is the nicest.

Around here FD drive in red, with the exception of a wealthy city that is safety-yellow / lime.

Do you think it really matters? I would think that a bright yellow ambulance would be easier to see than the dark red or plain white.

Wahhhh, no ambulance for me. I'm just on a vollie FD, so do big, red firetrucks count? I think the two paid services here.....Pro & Arrow....are both mainly white with blue lettering. MMiz, I have seen the bright, lime green on fire engines before, in other parts of the country.

vollie squad: white with blue stripe

in mass, all ambulances that are not fire dept run are required to have a base color of white with another color of the co's choosing
