Hey guys! Just wondering, what does your uniform include? Can you wear shorts if it is hot? Do you wear a polo, t-shirt, uniform shirt, etc. What footwear? Is their a loose uniform policy/options. If you respond from home, what are you required to wear? Include where you live so we know the climate.

I'll go first. I wear a white uniform shirt, navy emt pants, tactical boots. If it is cold, I can wear a navy sweatshirt and/or a sherrif type bomber jacket. We have a very strict uniform policy and cant wear anything else. If it is extremely hot, we are allowed to wear our t-shirt with our logo.

Shorts may be fine for postal workers, but I'm not sure I would want to expose more skin to patient ickies.

Here's what my company supplied me when I started: two t-shirts, two law-pro-style shirts, a jacket, a winter coat, a pair of gloves, two pairs of pants (fitted), and a hat.

Logo job shirts are specially requested through one of our staff paramedics whose mother does the embroidery.

Basically the only thing I have to provide is socks, boots, and underoos!

I don't know any organization that allows shorts, with the expception of our Bike Medics. Long sleeve, short sleeve, and a variety of winter gear. That's about it.

A neighboring service of mine allows them between May and September, but only in station or working special events (marathon, motocross, etc.).

For Ambulance: Navy BDU Pants (never shorts), dress style navy shirts, Polos only in the summer, duty boots, one-piece coveral-type bdu's, and misc sweatshirts and jackets with the company logo. Everything other than sweatshirts are company provided and we got 2 new complete uniform sets a year. T-Shirts, shorts were not allowed!

For SAR: We have "Dog and Pony" Khaki BDU Pants and Shirts that we wear to offical functions, but we usually wear whatever is gonna make us comfortable in the field and keep us alive, shorts included.

come on guys, lets hear em

Southern California:

Ambulance: Company issued short sleaved shirt, company issued ID tag, company issued pager, company issued jacket with employee supplied EMS pants or black ****ies and black boots.

Waterpark: Company issued polo shirt, company issued fanny pack (stocked to your pleasure with park supplies), company issued hat (if you ask for one. EMTs sometimes staffed a shallow life guard spot in front of first aid if need be). Employee supplied white or tan shorts and white tennis shoes.

Boston: Company issued long or short sleeve shirt (employee's choice. I went with short sleeve since it's easier to dress up than down), company issued EMS pants, company issued rain jacket, company issued winter jacket with employee supplied boots.
