Hey guys! My sister called me today to say that my little nephew is not doing so well. He has a rare brain deformity and requires constant medical care. Her and her husband are both active in the AF and stationed at Travis. Without the option of coming home for help with the baby, she has asked if I would be willing to go out there to help them for 6mo-yr. Does anyone have any information to share about the work situation in the area for EMT-B, or reciprocity laws in the state (I am currently in NC). Anything would be helpful.

Medic Ambulance Service (http://www.medicambulance.net) is the exclusive provider of emergency and non-emergency medical services for Solano County. I hope this helps.

In addition, my thoughts are with you and your family in their time of need.

Medic Ambulance is the exclusive emergency and ALS transport provider in Solano County. However Falcon Ambulance also provides non emergency BLS services there as well. I also see Pro-Transport out there but I think only because they have a contract with Sutter Solano.

Falck also runs bls calls out in solano county

bay medic in concord goes to the base every now and again--that should be a last resort company as the pay is really cheap and the owner will literally leave a patient at bedside if they cant pay upfront for the transport. you will run calls about an hr late because they are so backed up (and will not put on more units) and they dont have a stair chair which i consider extremely dangers to carry a heavy patient up or down steps on a flat. I did it before and had sharp shoulder pain for months.
