Too soon?

Recently received my national reg and ct emt certification and I am both excited and eager to begin my career in EMS. I am already riding with a volunteer service but is it too soon for me to go commercial? I am confident in my patient care but I worry that my lack of experience would hold me back from finding a job with a big company. Should I wait and continue volunteering or are companies like AMR open to new guys like myself?

Go for it. I had zero Pt care experience when I was hired with the local office of a national agency. Within 4 months I was working 9-11.

If you meet the minimum job requirement, apply everywhere. Some places don't even consider volunteer experience.

I ran my first 911 response, with an experience EMT there backing me up if needed within 2 hours of my state certification.

Only one way to get experience. Start applying.
