So I just got an infraction for an not having my motorcycle helmet properly secured. It was a CVC 27803.

What are my chances of still getting a job with local LA/OC ambulances companies after this? Is an infraction any different from a ticket?

In California, criminal and public offenses comes in three varieties, felonies, misdemeanors, and infractions (California Penal Code section 16). Unless otherwise specified, all traffic tickets are infractions, including things like speeding tickets, red light tickets, etc. Basically no one cares about anything less than a misdemeanor (would you put a citation for littering on your application), and most spell out misdemeanors and felonies only.

Additionally, the only way that a company would care about a traffic citation would be if it carried a point, and CVC 27803 does not carry a point.

Thank you! As long as I can still get a job as an EMT

If a single traffic infraction kept people from getting an EMS job, then there'd be a lot less EMTs and paramedics.

Roger that. Especially speeding.
