I have been in Fire and EMS for almost 2 years now. But I have started swimming again to get back into shape. When I was still in high school, I wanted to be a Ocean Lifeguard. And yes you can thank Baywatch for this.

But recently I have been looking at changing from 911 ems and becoming a Ocean Lifeguard. Does anyone have experience with being a Ocean Guard, and also any help anyone can give me on how to achieve this goal, it would be a great help.

Thank You all,

EMT11KDL :)

First thought is you need to live near an ocean.:P

Actually sounds cool but not sure if they pay a livable wage.

thanks medic, I understand that I need to live next to the ocean :p from what I have read pay is between 11 to 20 hr depending on location and some places a high of 25

Even if they pay a livable wage, is it a year-round job?

yes, there are some agencies that are year round.

Will Pamela Anderson be there? And will you have to run like Huff? If the Huff run is in the picture, I'm gonna hafta say ... no. ^_^

Pamela Anderson has Hep C. Get another beatiful hot blonde.

Why can't you do both 911 EMS and Lifeguard?

I can do both but I am land locked where I live right now. So I would have to move.

chimpie: if you have a second could you find out what agencies that are around you are year round and pm me. Thanks
