Hi,

I'm in the middle of EMT Basic and I'm doing well and want to have options open moving forward. My professional background is actually in advertising and I plan to stick with that for a while. That being said, I love the medical field and wonder if EMT positions can be a new staple for a secondary income much like how some people work in restaurants on the side to earn extra cash. Is this possible anywhere in the US?

Thanks!

Yes it's possible and common.

For my company after your initial training if you are part time you only have to work a minimum of 3 shifts (12 hours each) a month but you can pick up as many shifts per month as you want.

Short-term Hire

Thanks for the follow up Desert! What about short-term hires? I'd love to have this skillset and be able to use it when I move to a new area until I get set up in a primary position in an un-related field. Is it okay to be transparent as far as my intentions are to work short-term (under 12 months)?
