Albemarle, a boarding and day music camp ages 7-14 in Princeton, NJ, seeks an EMT-certified candidate to work as a counselor/EMT for the five-week summer season, starting 6/25/14 ending 7/21/14. Salary for the summer is $1900. No music experience required.

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and have national and/or New Jersey State EMTlicensure. An ideal applicant will enjoy working and playing with children, be organized, enthusiastic and responsible. All staff are required by NJ State law to undergo a finger-printed background check upon hiring.

As stated above, salary for the 5-week period is $1900 (room and board also provided). We also have a travel allowance of up to $200 to help defray costs of traveling to and from campus at the beginning and end of the summer. Additionally, we encourage having a senior lifesaving certification (we will pay for the course if you wish to pursue) and having this certification adds an additional $200 to your salary.

The position's medical responsibilities include maintaining treatment and medication log books, maintaining medical supplies inventory, treating injured children and staff, distributing medication. Additionally, at times when these duties are resolved and completed, the applicant will work as a part of the counseling staff for the balance of the day. Counselors are responsible for the children throughout the day when the kids are not in choral rehearsals -including overseeing meals- and for the boarders in the evenings and nights. They lead organized activities and are generally there to make sure the kids are having fun.

Working with us is a lot of fun; we have a wonderful summer program! We play all sorts of games across our 17-acre campus, including Capture the Flag, Jailbreak, and other fun derivatives. We go on field trips about once a week. We play traditional sports in the afternoons, go swimming on-site every day, and counselors enjoy one hour of free time before and after lunch. EMT/Counselors are off-duty on alternating nights, after lights-out, and may leave campus. There is one full day off per week, during which a few staff will often choose to go into New York or Philadelphia for the day.

All staff live on-campus. Room, board, and all of the costs for trips we take are provided, and are in addition to salary. Accommodations are dormitory style, but comfortable - AC, carpeting, cable TV for the counselors, full bathrooms - and to top it off, we have a caterer for our camp cook = ) The applicant will bunk with up to three other staff members of the same sex.

All applicants are urged to contact the Camp Director, Christopher Wheeler, at their earliest convenience via phone or email. Contact information may be found at the American Boychoir's Website. 609-924-5858 x641
