I am currently taking Chemistry + EMT Basic training during the summer semester. Being that they are BOTH summer classes they are much more intense.

Then after summer I, I end chemistry and do Music Appreciation + EMT Basic.

So...
Summer I
EMT Basic - TT - 9AM-12PM
Chemistry - MTWT - 3PM-7PM
Summer II
EMT Basic - TT - 9AM-12PM
Music Appreciation - MTWT 7-9AM

On top of that I try to keep a regular walking schedule, have homework obligations and girlfriend obligations. My clinical sign-up is next Tuesday, and when that starts I will have 56 hours of Ambulance Clinicals and 24 Hours of ER clinicals.

I study as much as I can, I do my work-book assignments for extra credit, do all the quizzes online and our first test is next Tuesday. I am thinking of buying a 3 month subscription to an NREMT Study Site for 64 bucks...But being as :censored::censored::censored::censored:-tier broke as I am, that's a big chunk of cash. Is it worth investing in that right now? I want to take the NREMT VERY SHORTLY after my EMT class ends, maybe within a month. I want to pass it the first time because I need to start saving up to move in with my Girlfriend at the end of the year.

Any advice? I'm just worried...Like really, really worried I won't pass it, mainly because of the horror stories I hear. It's almost like 50/50 with the stories. I get, "Oh, I passed it on my first try...Its not as bad as people make it out to be!" and then I hear, "OH SWEET JESUS IT TOOK ME LIKE 5 TRIES AND I BARELY MADE IT!"

This post is honestly 90% me asking for advice about should I buy the website access and spend every waking minute reading my textbook? and about 10% me venting to EMT's in the field about me being stressed out and hoping for a little reassurance.

You sound like you are already very studious. I'll let you in on a secret... Your chem class- especially an accelerated one, is likely much harder than EMT. Most college students I see that go for their EMT have very little trouble. EMT really is very easy material. I'm also one of the subscribers to the "NREMT is blown way out of proportion" mindset. Keep studying like you've been and you'll do fine. I'm not familiar with the NREMT study site. We tell most of our students to use JB Learning, and the vast majority seem to think it benefitted them.

ETA: I'd also recommend scheduling your test as soon as you possibly can after class. Most of the students I see waiting weeks to months after the finish of class appear to do worse on the test than those taking it right away (Anecdotally, and using 1st time passing as the comparison).
