So here is a weird one and I am not so sure if I should or even can do anything about it.

I was transporting an ETOH on my last shift and my partner agreed to let her boyfriend ride to the hospital with us (upfront of course, and this was after we had loaded her in and I was in the back trying to keep her from destroying my ambulance). So I'm in the back dealing with her and she was a handful. We get to the hospital and wackiness ensues. No big deal. We get back to the base and I finish up my report. A few hours later we get another call for an out of towner and I notice that my phone charger is no longer in the outlet we look around the cab and its just gone.

I think the guy took my charger. So what to do? Chalk it up to dumb luck? I'm kinda made that my partner didn't notice but he was driving so watching the road is a big deal but heck you should be watching a family member when they are up in the cab, especially a drunk one.

No... he should be driving. What are you expecting him to do, not check his blind spot if merging to the left? Know where all of your things are? If I was driving, I probably wouldn't notice if someone took a charger from the passenger side of the ambulance, especially if the passenger timed it properly.

Crappy situation. Sorry to hear about that. I don't think it's your partners fault at all though. I'd just chalk it up to a bad shift and move on.

What kind of options do you really have?

Getting pissed at your partner would be about it...don't recommend it. Just sucks, sorry.

That sucks, but sometimes things just vanish.

One of my first shifts at my station I KNOW I had my phone charger plugged in somewhere. I remember having my phone plugged in (in the station), I thought I remembered taking it with me to the truck to get my bag/gear off the truck at the end of shift and when I got home the charger was gone. Not in my personal vehicle, not in my bags, not anywhere. I searched the ambulance in and out, every compartment, I searched the station, everywhere. My phone charger just vanished. Did "someone take it"? Possibly, maybe, I don't know. Maybe it fell behind something, maybe I dropped it, I just don't know. Without proof of anything, I simply know "I lost it", and I bought a new one and have moved on.

I'm gonna have to chalk this one up to a bad night. I was frustrated with the partner I was working with that night anyway so it just kinda got added on to the pile.

Company policy all 10-19's (riders) sit shotgun... that being said before we go on all calls / IFTs I will put all my stuff in my bag to prevent this from happening.

Your billing department has her information. Might be worth talking to a supe about. With that said it'd be tough to prove
