I have a single tube and can't hear anyone with a quiet pulse, especially over the noise of the rest of my class. My instructor recommended I get a double tube. I've had this one since I was a vet tech in 04. Any recommendations that wont cost me a fortune?

*face palm* I should have looked for that before I posted.

Thanks.

Its OK we realize that search is a Paramedic skill.:P

Sometimes cant find exactly what i'm looking for with search. especially if the information you are looking for is found within a off topic thread

Dude... just search 'stethoscope' and you'll find tons of information. It doesn't just look at the thread title. Or search 'steth' or 'scope' or some combination herein

I don't need steth info, just stating if your looking for some specific sunjects, it is not always immediately apparent

The stethoscope threads should be merged and stickied.

I have a Littman Cardiology II, Several Spragues, a newer version of Sprague, and a couple nurse scopes. I think the cheap, single head ones work just as good as the expensive dual head Littman. It's all in the application, IMO. The more noise, the more I'd want the nurse scope. The more clinical, and low noise, the more I'd want the Littman.

Depends on what you are listening for. Certain heart sounds need a deep bell to be heard.

And we're walking over to the existing thread.

I can't figure out the difference between the Littmann classic ii and the classic ii lightweight.

OK I was only kidding about search being a Paramedic skill. The differences are listed. Search and answer you seek find you will.

Dont know about you but I dont have time to sit here and read through a thread that is 25+ pages long. If someone answers me, I am thankful. If not, then I'll just have to wait until another day when I can go search through that thread... probably wont be for several years.

I have the Littmann Cardiology III. Granted, I've only used it in class, but it seems to work pretty well (even though it is only a single tube).

There's only a twenty dollar difference at the site I'm looking. I believe its the lightweight that is more expensive.
