Anyone know of any special event EMT positions or how I could go about finding them? Looking for places in the Los Angeles area.

Also, anyone familiar with West Coast EMS - Whittier? Appears to be a special event EMS company but I couldn't find any real feedback on the company.

Thanks in advanced!

Most of the stand bys for movie shoots etc are Union jobs. It's complicated to get in. Schaefer holds alot of those jobs due to being involved with the steel workers. Bowers when they exsisted did wipe out, the Jack *** Movies and a couple of others. Mccormick ive seen do a couple of production shoots. Never heard of west coast. Check out medics on the ball.

Ha, a random side note: one of the old AMR Carson EMT lifers was the one cleaning one of those jokers up in "Jackass". I had to do a double take, but was like "hey, I remember working with her..."

AMR would sporadically score decent ones as well, my old partner did that "Chuck and Larry" movie; said Sandler was a very cool cat, real soft spoken.

Anyhow, to the op, to get into to any of those really good gigs it seems like a lot of schmoozing and like fish said, I'm sure there's some union red tape, probably even movie unions (maybe that's what he meant).

Every now, and again they may throw a random ambulance company a bone and ask for one, but unless they're reputable, reliable, or have a strong hold on their EOA's in the area that they want to produce, it's a crapshoot.

No problem. What area are you in? You can try Symons which does alot of events, Huntington ambulance which is hard to get ahold of do most of the race horseing circuits in Southern California.

Medical and safety in fountain valley, they do Honda center and few other venues in OC. Emergency 1 response has alot of LA events including music center, some Convention center, set jobs and club. Symons but there mostly in San Bernardino area. West coast has orange County fairgrounds and few other stuff but don't know that much about them. Rest is mostly local ambulance companies

Look at set medics llc, they do the Wiltern, Greek, and palladium, and TV shows from time to time.

I personally hate the palladium. Wiltern is fun.
The Fonda was also a good theater. The Troubadour is still my favorite, albeit small, venue to watch a show.

Anyhow, carry on...
