Southern California to Portland area

So I am considering a move to the Portland area I am a Emt-b I am nationally registered but have no experience.I am curious about what I will need to get if any certification wise. As well as what the job market is like? Anything about that area opinions or facts both about jobs or just the area would be greatly appreciated...

I remember an old poster we had on the forum said they only hire AEMTs and medics for the ambulance. I'm not sure if this is still true or not.
 
AMR does 911 in Portland but I think they run dual paramedic?
