I'm moving to the Charleston area in he next few months I am curently working as a Paramedic and Firefighter in IL. I've been told by a few places I have applied to that they don't except the 1 year provisionary license. Does anyone know of places that are hiring that wil except it until I get the national?

Hey I am from IL and also live in SC now too. I had a provisional EMT-Basic license for SC. I was told that everywhere accepted those. They are equal to an NREMT license from what I am told. I'm not from Charleston but I know in Greenville, SC everywhere accepts them. I'm not sure of jobs there but I heard Charleston County EMS is good to work for. I would question though why they don't take the provisional licenses. Good luck on your move and job search!
