Does your service have a policy if an employee is non compliant with anti seizure meds and seizes at work: certain time off? or can't work on the street? or don't they care?

just curious

we have had one employee who didn't take meds and seizes off duty; and a medic who seized in the truck just before he started to drive with a pt in the back.

If they have a seizure, then they cannot drive as a regular citizen for 3 years in my state. Can't drive, can't work in my service. Period.

have to look that up for our state.

thank you

With our company, you have to be two years seizure free, before you can drive again. They do allow you to work, barring they have documentation stating that from your neurologist. I don't follow that, as what is one of the big causes/onsets for epileptic patients to having seizures...flashing lights!!

I think you would have to look and see what your company/state policy is. I am sure the company has thought of this, and has a policy somewhere.
