Do you think it might be doable to have a scenario board with weekly scenarios for EMTBs and/or students to practice with?

Unfortunately, my class is very low on scenarios and role-playing. It's a shame because I feel that's what I feel helps prepare me the most and forces me to synthesize information better. Also, you can get used to clustering several symptoms together as probably suggesting a certain problem, instead of trying to see what that specific combination of signs & symptoms might mean out in the field.

This would of course be only if there'd be enough volunteers to keep it up weekly..., then post an answer.

What do you guys think?

You can always try posting a scenario in the EMS Talk or Did That Just Happen sections of the forum first. If there's enough interest in the subject, we may add a specific scenario forum in the future.

I like the idea.

Maybe monthly, not weekly, though.... or biWeekly...

What about every 17 days?

Scenarios are great.. If they challange your mind. Pediatric Medicals, traumas with hidden injuries... Photos are better.. Cover a buddy with stage blood, etc.

Trauma

I print out scenarios for my wife to take to work and quiz the medical students on, so sometimes I throw in obvious symptoms to see if they can tell the difference between a cold and a pneumothorax. They always write in the narrative sections all this odd ball crap that you never think they would actually check. Who'da thunk it, they do a PSA for a diabetic coma... I guess that means you should always avoid a teaching hospital.

Forgot to add the .org to the link

I think it would be a really wonderful idea. I would look forward too it. Besides I love challlanges

I can't get any more Med Student flash cards...
Why?

Scenarios rock out. I would be happy to contribute and to, of course, try to solve them myself. There are not enough online already, IMHO :)

Because:

#1 Couldn't find any more

#2 A set of them cost 98.00 (according to the training guy at the hospital)

#3 I'm not paying 98 bucks for only ten scenarios.

Very good reason.
