The article states they have seen six figure losses operating in Indiana. They have several small crew bases across the area, and to my knowledge most of them operate independently, not sharing personnel or equipment. I could be wrong on that, I've never worked for them, but I have plenty of friends that do and that's what I have gathered from them.

Have you heard of which company(ies) will be taking their place? Maybe AMR, which I know already has operations in Indiana.

I was reading some of the comments below the article. Is Rural/Metro in that much financial trouble overall?

No, there are a ton of bases closing. I've heard that Seals and Care are holding walk in interviews for RM employees, but I don't work for any of these companies.

Care ued to be a great company to work for. Don't know about now. Seals always sounded like a good company: Didn't work for Seals, did for Care but it has been 6 years

Yup. They declared bankruptcy, and as I understand it, Falck is running the show. Falck has apparently allowed other R/M operations to fail, to then swoop in, renegotiate facility contracts, and be rid of labor unions and the hugest paid employees.

Legal? Yes. Ethical? Well...you be the judge.

Falck owns RM? and as far as I saw that bankruptcy lasted less than 6 months.

Ok... I retract my statement. Not sure where I heard/saw that, but I can't find proof.

SEALS and IU Health already operate many units in Central and South Central Indiana and I would not be surprised if they both expanded. Additionally I wouldn't be surprised if a large push for BLS/ALS transport units from the Fire Service occured as many larger combination departments already have the resources in place.
