here are the "far behind" response times:
According to the report, urban towns had the most emergency responses (504,724) and the shortest average response time of 7.02 minutes. Suburban towns had 104,457 calls with an average response time of 8.03 minutes.

Rural towns had the fewest calls (93,324) and the longest average response time of 9.74 minutes, the report said.
The Average response time was 8.16 minutes; this is a case of "duh" because rural times are ALWAYS going to be slower than urban ones, primarily due to distance traveled. Not only that, but urban systems (typically) have more funding and more units to handle the higher call volume.

There is also a very unpopular opinion that if you want urban service levels, you should either pay urban taxes or move to the cities. if you want cheaper living, with less regulations, move to the sticks, but don't expect to get the same perks when you are miles from everyone as you would if you were 10 feet from your neighbor. There are tradeoffs to everything.
