Question about EMT Continuing Education

So when I log in to my NREMT page to where it talks about EMT refresher hours and Continuing Education hours. Which one am I supposed to be doing? Both? or just one of them? How does it work?. I just passed NREMT-B and am waiting for all the documents to come in the mail btw.
