Hi all. I'm moving down to Houston in May/June of this year and I'd like to find a 911 EMS agency to work PRN or volunteer at.
As a little background, I'll be a third-year medical student when I move, interested in emergency medicine and EMS. I've been a paramedic since 2007 and worked on a 911 truck for five years (one was with MCHD EMS which is nearby), so I'm not brand-new. I haven't worked on the ambulance since June 2012 so I'm having withdrawals. I just renewed my NREMT-P, and I'd like to put it to some use.
I know there are a number of agencies around Houston that allow volunteers or hire PRN personnel...Cypress Creek EMS, Harris County Emergency Corps, Cy-Fair VFD, etc.
Can you all recommend any other agencies, or comment about the volunteer programs or PRN opportunities at any of those places?
