Hey I got a call today from an ambulance company!! :) They want me to go in to fire station for potential employment testing. Does anyone know exactly what the testing is? written? scenarios? I have never had an interview yet..thanks!

Well its for CA, Sierra Nevada hospital

Normally when you are called for a test it is completely normal and expected for you to ask what you will be tested on and how to prepare for it.

I can tell you what is pretty much standard here.

I had to do a 50 question knowledge test. Just your standard BLS questions.

I also had to do a lift test. 150 pounds pick it up walk forward and back 20ft. 125lb up and down some stairs.

And they make sure you know how to use a stretcher.

Some companies run through a scenario with ya. Or some do skills. It all depends. But that's usually the basics.

Have you tried actually calling the company and asking them what you should prepare/study for their interview?

Why is it so hard for people to do this? There is atleast a thread every other day asking these exact same questions, is it too much work for you to do some homework/research on the company you desire to work for? If so why even bother testing?

Sorry for the rant and this is not an attack against the OP, but seriously do we need to go through this with every single potential applicant on this site?

I didnt wanna call and sound unprofessional cuz he had left me a message. But I did just call and I got the info

Just don't read the ones that say employment testing.

It scary being brand new never having a job. Not knowing proper interview etiquette. My very first interview I had no idea what was appropriate to ask. And if you google pre employment testing it brings up this site.

Be patient.
