Personal Property Tax

I've searched the forum and found nothing directly related to my question, so here goes...


For volly EMS agencies, does your town,city,county (place of residence) tax the citizens for Emergency Services or like a 911 fee? If so, please advise details...how much, who has to approve (I assume majority of citizen vote during a regular office election), pros/cons for doing this, tips to help it go through in my county?

I don't know the details, but we do have a property tax levy that makes up the majority of our budget. Any changes to the rate must be approved by a majority of the voters.

I've heard this was discussed in our county before and our citizens went ape sh*t! They just don't understand the costs to run a rescue squad.
