Has anyone used throat mic's before? Currently tinkering with individual set ups for my individual portable radio. Started using an earpeice +pin mic set up, but started looking into throat mics due to high noise environment (bars, festivals, protests).

Are people having a hard time hearing your transmissions, or is it just you?

I’ve used them, it’s not just put it on, it takes a lot of playing around with it and watching how you enunciate.

I tossed mine.

Yes, the reason nobody uses throat mics is because they suck, and make you look like a Gothic teenage girl.

If you choose an appropriate noise canceling microphone, you can use a walkie-talkie next to an airplane or industrial equipment.
