Hello,

I was wondering if anybody had any info on which local departments are hiring per diems. For those of you not from the area who might be having a puzzled look right now, a lot of the smaller "mostly volunteer" departments hire per diem EMTs to staff the rescues. This is why I am asking.

I recently got my Cardiac-- the main ALS license in RI-- and frankly I've been craving going back to rescue. My time in private EMS has grown long in the tooth, so while I don't wanna completely jettison private from my income, I do want to supplement it (or rather use it to supplement) back on a 911 system.

Thanks

you would probably do best to check out the websites of every local rescue agency, or call them (on the phone), ask to speak to a supervisor, and ask if they are hiring.

You are in the smallest state in the US, that only has 5 counties... it isn't like you are calling every agency in California. Spend some time and do your research, it will probably be more effective than asking on here.

I am also doing that, however I figured by asking here I'd sort of extend my net, catch anything I might've missed through face-to-face. But I appreciate the reply!

I myself am also in RI and would love to know if anybody has any info.
