Pedi Nose Bleeds

Does anyone know why an 8 year old would often have nose bleeds? This is my son and he has been having them alot lately. Anyone ever experienced this with thier children?

I use to get nosebleeds all of the time. When I was little I would wake up with blood on my pillow from bleeds during the night.

Could be dry air, get him a humidifier. Could also be from picking his nose.

Quit hitting him in the nose, the bleeding will stop.

Sometimes, kids have more irritability in the capillary beds. Since it is a grossly vasculature area, how often is "often" two to three times a week ?

My five y/o son was having nose bleeds a few times a week. Not to much blood just a drip or two from the nare. Then we caught him him with his finger up there. Apparently his nose was dry and itchy so he would scratch it to relieve the itch. Which makes sense if your 5. We are trying to use some nasal saline spray to keep it moist so it doesn't itch.

Quit hitting him in the nose, the bleeding will stop.

Ditto you would be amazed how quick they stop bleeding if you quit hitting him.

Try one of those little room size humidifiers. It worked for us. Also, quit hitting them.
