I recently took and passed my EMT-B. I took it in RI and am wondering what do I do next? Does the state send me something?

It's been a few years since I've passed my Basic. But if memory serves me, they'll send you a wallet card as well as an actual certification. Each state is prolly different but I doubt by much. Congrats & welcome to EMS!!

But yes, they'll send you your certification and such. You don't need to do anything. If you happen to get a job before you receive your actual cert, just explain that it's on it's way.

Thanks. I did receive a packet from NREMT, but nothing from the state. What about a state license?

Keep the packet obviously, but the state has already been notified. Are Basics licensed in RI?

at least for cali after you take the national test you have to notify the state. after that then in a couple of weeks the state will send you your state card.

Exactly. Every state is different, just call your Dept. of Homeland Security and go from there.
