Are there any emergency departments in Virginia that actually use paramedics as ED Paramedics?

It seems that most EDs view paramedics as CNAs/PCTs, yet I have heard of some people report there are hospitals where paramedics are allowed to actually use their scope of practice in the ED (except for maybe intubations).

I don't know about Virginia but i have worked as an ER paramedic before in nm. Could do most things a field medic could do plus a few things

Same in Washington. Tacoma General and Allenmore hired medics for the ED. Full scope and then some.

Sadly the nurses union fought and now they can only do basic pct/can stuff.

Another funny thing is all the ED nurses at TG are sad that they cant do all the fancy stuff anymore.

That's a shame. I learned a lot from those medics. They ran the RRT too. I got a couple of codes under my belt at TG.
