My Service is hiring up to 12 Paramedics to work in our busy urban and suburban environment service. The benefits are some of the best, pay is the best in the state, equipment is excellent and care is aggressive.
Shifts are either 2 Twelves and 2 eights or 4 tens, either way, it is a straight 40 hours a week kinda gig. 75% tuition reimbursement (even for a degree in basketweaving).
Here are a couple reasons why I love working at Hennepin besides what was mentioned earlier -
We are getting Stryker PowerLOAD systems installed in all 28 of our vehicles starting in October...
Affiliated with a Adult and Pediatric Level I Trauma center with a strong commitment to research and leadership. Our safety net hospital also operates an emergent hyperbaric oxygen chamber, Burn Center, Stroke Center (w/ nation leading Neuro intervention services), Cardiac center (w/ aggressive STEMI field activation policy and no fiddling with faxing the 12 lead), separate psychiatric emergency unit, regional poison center and comprehensive rehab service just to name a few. I genuinely appreciate that generally, of the 20-some hospitals we have at our disposal, Hennepin EMS providers are generally viewed as legitimate peers, not subordinates.
I no longer need to work a second job to make ends meet.
We have a stand alone shift supervisor who remembers what it is like to be a line medic and wont climb up your rear unless you give them a valid reason to. They are there to support you when you need them, and gone when you don't.
We have an outstanding rapport with our first response agencies in all 14 municipalities we serve. Every entity trains up to the first responder level and most fire departments and one police department are 100% EMT-Basic.
This doesn't come close to describing everything else i value about this place, but if you want a job, go somewhere else. If you want a career that you will comfortably retire from, give us a shot!
